Shanon "Shae" Rice

My desire for storytelling and passion for the arts led me to the University of Cincinnati where I studied Fine Art Photography at DAAP and continued in Motion, Picture, and Television for my graduate degree from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco where I studied Post-Production and Editing.

Spending my life with two teachers as parents, I have always taken comfort in front of a group of eager eyes that are looking for guidance to spark their inspiration.  For the past twenty-five years, I have been an educator and mentor to young photographers, filmmakers, and artists, guiding them to achieve their fullest potential.  My journey in education started with an Introduction to Photoshop class. This class was the next spark that ignited my love for the computer and the digital medium.  Being able to explore the idea of compositing helped to bring the stories I would imagine as a child to life.

I have a style for juxtaposing reality with my imagination to create imagery that speaks on many layers.  Everyone has a story to tell and with my desire for storytelling, my film projects and human interest pieces bring light to those real-life stories.    With my camera and computer, anything I envision can come to fruition. I want my projects to inspire the viewer to not dwell on challenges, but to live for the love that is life.
